0 This Could Be Epic...

“Just chillin’” with Dame Dash may have just spawned a rap supergroup project. On Wednesday, at Dash’s new facility (art gallery, TV studio, music studio and more), DD172, critically acclaimed underground lyricist Curren$y told MTV News that he, Jay Electronica and Mos Def have combined forces to start recording an entire album together. “That’s ridiculous!” Curren$y said. “Jay Electronica is from my city, he’s from New Orleans. I never met homie until I stepped foot in this building. He came here to meet Mos. And Mos, I had only known him for 24 hours prior to that. But genuine people could recognize [each other], it was like, ‘Let’s go.’ ” Curren$y said Mos came up with the name of “Center Edge Territory” for the trio. When asked exactly what the moniker means, Curren$y would only comment emphatically, “Everything! That’s everything! Here is a video from Curren$y called "Life Under The Scope". You might be able to catch this on the new collaboration album. K.I.F. Bp

0 We Were Once A Fairytale | Short Film by Kanye West & Spike Jonze

Kanye West has had a hell of a career thus far; both successful and shameful. One of the realest artists in music has taken his fair share of criticism for bad publicity moves that he may have made during his music career and he has altered his image over the past year. A lot of people won’t give Kanye a chance and they are so quick to criticize, yet they don’t understand that he doesn’t want it to be like that.

If you have 12 minutes to spare, I encourage you to please watch this short film that we have for you. This film was put together by Ye and director Spike Jonze.

For a quick little synopsis before viewing, it is a film that shows how Kanye’s life is like…partying, drinking, girls, etc. It sounds simple but you can see the ‘real’ Kanye portrayed in this video. It shows how his ego is affecting his social life. It’s really deep, so just watch.

Those who weren’t able to correlate all of that together, just know that the little mouse represents Kanye’s ego, and in the end they realize that they can’t live with each other because it’s not doing good for Mr. West.

The movie was obviously vision of what life is like from Kanye’s perspective. His vision for art is second to none in the rap game right now. I think he was saying whatever was “inside” of him at one point, is now dead and gone. Hence, the knife and death of whatever that “was” inside of him.

I think that it’s fair to say, this movie was a metaphor for a change in Kanye’s life.

1 Serius Jones -- Can't Stand Her

Those who thought Serius Jones was down for the count after his Fight Club battles with Murda Mook, re-think that.  Serius has actually been doing much more than Mook has with his career.  Jones has released a series of mixtapes, street singles and videos (although, low-budget).  This video we have for you today is a song that any fella can relate to (including me).  This is definitely the story to my relationship (don't tell my girl I said that : P).  Anywho, the song is hot; it's called Can't Stand Her.

0 T.I. on VH1's Behind the Music..Watch it Here

In their staple segment, VH1 goes back to before T.I. wanted to literally shoot up the charts, focusing on the ATL rapper's rise to big time and to the big house. Shot before T.I. began his one-year stint in jail (obviously), the episode aired on Thursday (October 8) .
T.I. spoke briefly about his early childhood growing up in the Bankhead section of Atlanta, Georgia. By the 3rd grade he had already fallen in love with music, penning his first set of lyrics. The rapper would eventually turn to the streets for guidance after his uncle (the father figure in his life) was sent to jail; and that marked the point when he turned to "hustling" and selling drugs.

Check out some the whole interview below.

0 New Short Film: The Ear--ft. Pharrell Williams

THE EAR

A new short film by Yi Zhou FEATURING PHARRELL WILLIAMS Inspired to Gogols short story entitled The Nose from the Petersburg tales, Yi have written her latest short film about the absurd story of the loss of an ear. The ear is actually the key element of the film, shot in RED and partly to be made in 3d animation. Throughout the film, the ear and inner ear as a whole turn themselves into an EarBrige as they get crossed by a bridge. The EarBridge is part of a public project proposal for Baku, Azerbaijan that includes a number of important international contemporary artists.

This is a little too artsy for me and my taste, but some of you may like it.  I didn't even understand what the above description was trying to convey...but the video is pretty deep if you can appreciate it. Just check it out, give it a chance.

0 Music Video: Gucci Mane ft. Plies- Wasted

The Mr. Boomtown directed clip is pretty much what you’d expect for a song about getting wasted. Thick chicks. Pool parties. White guys chugging alcohol. The whole nine. Of course, Plies shows up to deliver his anti-tight jeans verse and Shawty Lo even shares some screen time too. Gucci finally has a legitimate video-man at hand, instead of those sorry "in-house" videos he seems to create.

I personally feel that the song came out too early for the video, or vice versa.  But the video is still amped  Check it out.

0 Curren$y's New Projects: Jet Files and Smokey Robinson Mixtape w/ Don Cannon

Yesterday, Curren$y dropped his latest mixtape, JETS FOOL and we posted it up on F.A.D.E.D. for y'all...apparently, Spitta is not close to done.  Curren$y has been on his grind with the whole music thing and even though he may seem like he's just now getting the recognition, this dude is a veteran.

From the days of Young Money when he came on the scene with Lil' Wayne (the real Weezy), everybody has recognized Curren$y for his smooth flow and hot bars.  I guess that's why we can call him Hot Spitta.

After partnering up with Wiz Khalifa for what I believe is one of the hottest mixtapes of '09 (How Fly), it took a little more than a month for him to come with another banger (JETS FOOL).

Curren$y has been keeping fans updated through YouTube and Twitter about his new tape coming on October 6th called Jet Files.  The tracklist has already been released and many fans are anticipating that date.

Think he's done?

Never.  In the video below, Curren$y is seen with producer Don Cannon discussing another project that they both are working on together.  This new mixtape will be entitled Smokey Robinson.  To see the kid working with major names like Don Cannon, you just know he's working hard and he will reach his peak soon enough.  Take a look at the vid...

Keep doing what you do, Spitta.  F.A.D.E.D. is definitely a fan!
We will keep y'all posted on Curren$y next moves, so make sure y'all keep checking in.

Til the next post...

0 A Look At The Originators Clothing...SoJonesTV Interview

One of our favorite sites interviewed Adam Bach, who is the CEO and founder of The Originators, a clothing line based on paying homage to “…the early DJs, MCs, Writers and B-Boys of Hip-Hop.” The Originators look has been sported by many big names such as Ice Cube, Lupe Fiasco and even Jay-Z.

This video was shot at a Las Vegas Fashion trade show about a month ago. In this video, SoJonesTV gets an overview of the newest looks from The Originators. They have a wide selection from both the mens and womens looks. Take a peep at the team shoutout tees that they have—the Lakers, Celtics and Pistons. Those are pretty hot, but they also have a lot more at their store online.

0 Oh Shit Ro Spit--Artist of the Week (Sept.29.09)

Roland Coit also known as Ro Spit is the first artist of the week in our new installment. If you haven't heard of the rapper/entrepreneur you've been missing out on a lot. Ro Spit was formerly known as Octane. Himself and he partner Illite dropped an album in 2005 entitled "The Forgotton...Chosen".

Since then he's been on his grind, and hard work pays off because the sky has been the limit for the M.C. Ro Spit has opened a well known business with his partner Rick Williams called Burn Rubber. 2 LeBron James Movie Trailer: More Than A Game

More Than A Game follows a high-school basketball team in Akron, Ohio. Its core group of players are four African-American youth from varying backgrounds, playing for the elite, predominantly white school St. Vincent-St. Mary. The boys had played together with the same coach since they were in grade school, developing an unusual chemistry. In the end, one of the players goes on to become an NBA superstar. While still in high school, LeBron James was anointed by Sports Illustrated as "The Chosen One," and scrutiny of the St. Vincent-St. Mary team increased exponentially. Here, we not only see what happened on the court but also what took place between friends in the locker room and outside the game…take a look

1 Kanye Apologizes - Will His Career Be The Same?

The aftermath of Kanye's VMA stunt has been haunting him and his career...and it's only been two days since the incident.  But Mr. West doesn't want this situation to hold him down from his fans who have seemed to display mixed reactions to his debacle.  Kanye has sent out several apologies online and it has even been rumored that he is doing a song with Taylor Swift to make up for what he did.
Many believe he can't make up for this one.
Below, we have video of Kanye on the Jay Leno show a day after the VMA's, showing his regret, sympathy and apologies.

Take a look, and let us know whether you feel Kanye's career will ever be the same after this...

0 Two New Curren$y Music Videos: Elevator Music, 16 Switches

Take a look at Curren$y the Hot Spitta with his new video, elevator music. I am a true fan of this dude, and this song as well. A nice, smooth track to get F.A.D.E.D. to, literally. It may not be the BET quality, but it's a funny look. Check it out and tell us what you think.

This second video is a little more easy to vibe to. Curren$y's style always makes the track easy to listen to and although the video seems underground, it's still nice. Check it out.

1 Pharrell's Keeping it real..

Earlier this week during fashion night out, MTV spoke with Pharrell co-founder of one of my favorite clothing lines Billionaire Boys Club. Notice this is how he's just keeping it real to the people thanking them for being a fan, and supporting the line. Pharrell is personally one of my idol. This is what I hope F.A.D.E.D. can one day be!
